Case Study Overview

Problem

Dr Galloway was hired to investigate possible efficiency improvements, particularly energy cost savings, for an engineering firm which monitors the operational performance of data centres.

Solution

The objective was to use our causal analytics algorithms to identify known and suspected unknown cause-effect relationships between the components of the data centre’s HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning): This meant analysing temperature, humidity, air flow rates inlet and outlet, differential pressures and equipment status parameters of the computer servers and equipment amongst many other variables.

Successful Outcome

Results provided new insights on how analysing the data for cause – effect drivers can SAVE on maintenance costs.  This means our technology can begin to predict ahead of time future problems and assist with implementing a better preventative maintenance regime.
