Case Study Overview
Problem
NSW eHealth understood that certain conditions could determine patient deterioration within ICUs. They wished to identify the causal variables and predict when patient deterioration could occur..
Solution
eHealth NSW provided timeseries data output from the sensors collected in the ICUs
The algorithms were able to determine when a causal impact happened between vitals’ sensors allowing health outcomes and treatment to be predicted.
Successful Outcome
From causal analysis of many variables and ten patients, the analysis was showing signs of success as we were able to determine what three variables MOST impacted a causal variable that directly impacted patient deterioration.
The project was put on hold due to Covid-19 and the drain on the Emergency Departments.
This is now in the process of being reimplemented.
