Case Study Overview

Problem

After the Bali terror attack of 2002 where 202 people were killed and 240 injured. The AFP lead task force approached Dr John Galloway to analyse the data to see if they could catch those involved.

Solution

Dr Galloway worked with the AFP data analysis team to analyse the sequence of events and locations leading up the attack, through Dr Galloway’s algorithms, in causal and link analysis they were able to identify key suspects.

Benefits

The software was able to identify the ring leaders and key suspects leading to the arrest of 3 of the leaders and 15 others that helped in the attacks. The software was then used to predict and prevent future attacks.
